Did you know that, in the city of Cheonan, there are many fun things to do, great food to eat and on top of that, very convenient for shopping?
The Shinsegae Department store is very accessible because is in the same building as the inter-city bus terminal.
The beautiful Galleria Department store is the choice for a quiet shopping with Buldang Cafe Street nearby.
The Shinbu area has affordable and unique shops, and of course, the Cheonan station underground strip malls that lead to the station.
There are lots of options that you can choose based on your shopping tastes and needs.
Out of these shopping malls, my personal favorite when it comes to shopping is the Moda Outlet.
It is in the Pentaport building, a landmark in Buldang-dong. It is said that Buldang is the Gangnam of Chungnam province. There are largely three reasons why it is such a nice place.
1. Easily accessible location
Not only it is accessible for the Cheon-An citizens, but it is also easy for out-of-staters.
The KTX Cheon-An/Asan station, Asan station (line number 1, the blue line), and the Asan railroad station are located just across the street. If you are coming from the Cheon-An city, you can get on the inner city buses 1, 19, or 20 and get off at the Pentaport station stop.
If you are coming from Asan, you can take the inner city buses 770, 771, 990 or 991.
There is a parking lot that goes down to the 5th basement levels if you choose to drive.
Typically, some outlets are around the outskirts of the city but the Moda Outlet is conveniently located amongst the center of Cheon-An and is easy to get there.
2. Good quality clothes at reasonable prices
There are many affordable clothes at the Moda Outlet. We tend to hesitate when buying clothes at the department store, however great the qualities are. The road-shop clothes are inexpensive and have low qualities in comparison to the department store ones.
If you want to save money but want equally good quality clothes, then I recommend the Moda Outlet. You can score some great clothes for lesser money!
These clothes were sold at the department store just a few months ago, so their style cannot be beaten.
Women/ young street/ bakery/ other goods are located on the 1st floor of the main building, and on the 1st-floor annex are food courts and infant goods.
Dunkin Donuts, Mango Six, Cafe, Popeye’s are included on the 1st floor.
There is a Daiso that sells everyday goods and Olive Young, which is a Korean beauty and health drugstore.
Men/outdoor goods/golf and the Modern House is on the 2nd floor and the casual/sports/sports shoes are on the 3rd floor.
3. Nice surroundings
In the same building, there are many shops including a CGV movie theatre.
The 1st~3rd floors are outlet shops and the 4th~5th floors are the movie theatre.
There are various food courts and snack shops on the 1st and the 3rd floor but there are also restaurants and food courts on the 4th and 5th floor.
There is an E-mart on the basement 1st and 2nd floor as well as a place to eat.
On the basement level, there are culture center, hair salon, drugstore, and a LEGO rental shop, too. It is the best place to shop, watch movies and eat.
Right below the Moda Outlet building is a park with streams, so it is good to go for a walk afterward.
Cheonan’s Yonggok park, which is famous for its yellow clay trail is about a 5-minute walk from there, so it’s definitely worth a visit.
If you have a chance, drop by the Moda Outlet and enjoy your shopping and leisure time!
