Samgeori Park – The Perfect Picnic Spot in Cheonan
Jul 9, 2018

Whether you’re looking for the perfect picnic spot under the trees or a quiet place to relax, Cheonan Samgeori Park is a great place to visit.

Located to the south-east of Cheonan, it was built in honor of Cheonan Samgeori.

This three-way intersection park is a well-kept public park filled with weeping willow trees scattered throughout the lawns. A beautiful pond is a highlight with many couples sitting on the benches and admiring the views which make the perfect backdrop for any photo.

Although it’s a popular park, the venue is big enough, offering lots of seating areas so it never feels overcrowded. There’s also a big turf where kids and families play soccer or basketball, ride their electric bikes or do their daily exercises. The huge swing is a big attraction for the kids and the entire park is suited for solo travellers, tourists, families and couples. To really enjoy this park, it’s best to pack a picnic basket with some drinks and snacks, a mat or tent and make your way there at around 5 pm when the weather is cooling down.

Cheonan World Dance Festival

Samgeori Park is also the home to the Cheonan World Dance Festival which takes place every year. This festival sees the best of the best taking part in an exciting dance competition which celebrates the traditional songs, costumes, and dances of the various competing countries. Parades fill the streets and the energetic atmosphere is contagious. There are also food stalls and other activities for the public to take part in. The Cheonan World Dance Festival will take place from Wednesday 12 September to Sunday 16 September 2018 this year so be sure to add it to your diary.
